Fiverr’s AI Bet: Freelancers, Get Paid While Their Clone Works!

Image: Fiverr

Fiverr is shaking up the gig economy with a bold new AI-powered move. Freelancers can now train AI on their work, sell AI-generated content, and (maybe) make money while they sleep. But is this the future of freelancing or just a pricey necessity to stay relevant?

Key Points:

  • Your AI Clone, Your Rules

    • Fiverr’s "Personal AI Creation Model" lets freelancers train AI on their work, whether it’s voice-overs, graphic design, or marketing copy.

    • Freelancers set their prices and keep ownership of AI-generated content.

  • Adapt or Get Left Behind?

    • Fiverr CEO says this makes freelancers “irreplaceable,” but skipping AI could mean falling behind in an already tough gig economy.

    • The model costs $25/month—another expense for gig workers already facing financial uncertainty.

  • Automate Your Hustle

    • Fiverr’s "Personal AI Assistant" ($29/month) acts as a chatbot that replies to clients and offers business insights.

    • Some freelancers may worry about how much control they have over AI learning from their past client chats.

  • Stock Up on Fiverr Shares

    • Fiverr is giving its "top-performing" freelancers shares in the company but details on who qualifies (or how much they’ll get) are vague.

Fiverr’s AI tools could be a game-changer for freelancers looking to scale their work. But with AI reshaping the job market, gig workers might not have much of a choice. Will this be the future of freelancing or just another costly survival tool?

Humane’s AI Pin Fizzles Out as HP Buys Up the Pieces

Image: Humane

Humane is officially pulling the plug on its AI Pin, selling most of the company to HP for $116 million. As of February 28th, AI Pins will stop connecting to Humane’s servers, making key features like calls, messaging, and AI queries completely unusable. Users are urged to download any stored data before the shutdown. Refunds will only be available for Pins within a 90-day return window, and any remaining subscription payments will be prorated. HP is absorbing Humane’s technology, patents, and team, forming a new AI division called HP IQ. Despite early hype, the AI Pin struggled with poor sales and scathing reviews, marking an abrupt end to Humane’s ambitious hardware experiment.
