OpenAI Gets Drafted

Geoffrey Hinton, often dubbed the “Godfather of AI,” isn’t sugarcoating the future of work. In a recent podcast, the Nobel Prize–winning pioneer behind neural networks warned that white-collar jobs, especially “mundane intellectual labor” like paralegal work and call center roles are on the chopping block. Hinton predicts that tasks once handled by ten employees may soon be done by one person and their AI assistant. While some still argue AI will create new jobs, Hinton isn’t buying it. His advice? Learn a skill AI can’t do well like plumbing. With entry-level hiring already drying up across tech and finance, it seems the safest careers might just be the ones that get your hands dirty.
